Food hampers for Free School Meal families
The Brent Knoll and Watergate Trust have worked together with FareShare, an organisation who redistribute surplus food donated by retailers, to distribute food hampers to families from across the two schools who have an entitlement to Free School Meals (FSM).
This is an initiative that has been taken on by the Trust and is in addition to the arrangements that have been made by the two schools to continue to provide FSM vouchers or meals whilst the schools are partially closed. The hampers will hopefully be distributed today and should arrive with families in or around lunchtime, Wednesday 8th April. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers that will give their time to support this initiative and would like to thank Lewisham Passenger Services who have very kindly offered to distribute the hampers to families.
As we have not done this before the logistics are a little unknown but we will endeavour to do our best to distribute the hampers as effectively as possible.
