Headteacher’s Welcome
I am extremely proud and privileged to welcome you as Headteacher of Brent Knoll School.
I lead a highly committed, talented, and dedicated staff team who provide the very best education for our young people.
We are a Co-operative Trust special school for children aged 4–17 with complex social, communication and interaction difficulties, including autism.
Situated in the London Borough of Lewisham, we are a diverse community and welcome students from many different backgrounds. We celebrate our diversity and learn from each other, valuing each student as unique and special.
Our holistic, pupil-centred approach to educating our young people, ensures that enrichment, therapeutic interventions and a bespoke, personalised curriculum develops their independence, provides them with the necessary skills and allows them to become engaged and active citizens in a rapidly changing world which positively impacts their life chances.
We are outward facing and value the collaborative partnerships we have with families and the wider community, as these are key to supporting our young people:
‘Be the best that we can be’
As a school community we are committed to our school’s core values and our pupils and staff are encouraged to live these values in all aspects of school life:
Fairness • Honesty • Kindness • Respect • Responsibility
I look forward to meeting you when you visit the school and wish your child every success and happiness in their time with us.
Mr Paul Shaw
