BKBucha

18/03/2020

We are really proud to announce the launch of BKBucha. Paul Shaw and Winston Lo from the staff team have been working together with Laura Deitz, Chair of Governors, to develop our own branded Kombucha. Kombucha is a fermented drink made from sweetened tea and a specific culture known as a scoby. Some of our older pupils have assisted in the production and we are launching the product for distribution at Igntion Brewery. I have posted previously about Ignition Brewery but for those of you who are not familiar with this fantastic local enterprise the co-founder, Nick O’Shea who is pictured with a bottle of BKBucha at The Tap room, has this to say about the schools involvement;

‘Ignition is a brewery with a difference.  We brew fantastic beer for south London and beyond, sold in our taproom in Sydenham.  Our team, who have learning disabilities, are involved in every step of the brewing and sales processes, being rewarded with the London Living Wage for their expert work.  So, we were delighted to start stocking BKBucha which is not only a fantastic, high quality and healthy drink, but is brewed by a team of similar talent and skill at Brent Knoll School. We look forward to helping make this Sydenham’s favourite drink!’

We have plans to further develop the product and distribution network and will hopefully be selling the product at school events in the near future. In the meantime find out more on our newly developed BKBucha website.
